1During the 2008 WGA strike he got involved with managing a boxer. The hobby turned into a second career as he now manages six fighters trained by the world famous Freddie Roach out of The Wild Card boxing club in Hollywood. His fighters have accumulated six north American titles and one Silver WBC World Title. As part of the fun he travels to all the fights as part of Team Roach and has personally worked the corner in more then 70 fights including Madison Square Garden, Cowboy Stadium, MGM Grand, and The Mandalay Bay in Vegas. He considers Roach one of his closest friends and the Wild Card his second home. He is a majority share holder in Standing Eight Management which manages his and some of Roach's fighters.
2Often uses the name "Charlie" for his lead male character. It's his real middle name. Says that it makes it easier to identify with the character's experience as he writes him. Also uses the name "Penn" as the last name of one of the characters. His uncle was an artist and use to sign his paintings PENN, the German meaning of Feder. A feather "penn."
