I enjoyed Kathleen Parker's Aug. 31 op-ed column, "Running against themselves." It was an intriguing muse on how Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney, in their convention speeches, might have elevated their public images had they been willing to disclose a little more about their past actions or choices.
Ms. Parker's points made me recall another speech at the Republicans' convention, though it was on a slightly different tack. On Aug. 28, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Preibus said, "President Obama's never run a company. He hasn't even run a garage sale or seen the inside of a lemonade stand." Indeed.
