
John Denver was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr, on December 31, 1943, in Roswell, New Mexico. John Denver is an American artist who was a singer, actor, activist, and humanitarian.
He found great success as a solo singer.
He started with folk groups in the late 1960s. Then he became one of the most popular acoustic artists of the 1970s. He sold millions of records across the globe.
John Denver released around 300 songs. He wrote the majority of them, with some famous songs including ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads, ‘Annie’s Song’, ‘Rocky Mountain High, ‘Thank God I’m a Country Boy, and ‘Sunshine on My Shoulders’ among others.
He as well appeared in several films and TV shows during the 1970s and 1980s. They include 1977’s Oh, God! alongside George Burns which had maximum attention at the time.
Denver was also known for his support of environmental issues. He promoted space exploration and testified in front of Congress to protest censorship in music. A rare characteristic of people of his calibre.
